Tulsa | Nov. 15, 2025

The first session of the 2025 NWCA National Duals Invitational presented by Paycom wrapped up inside the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Saturday afternoon.

The morning saw dominant performances from Iowa, Nebraska, North Carolina State and Ohio State.

The third-ranked Hawkeyes won nine of 10 matches over No. 16 Missouri, including a top-10 matchup at 184 pounds, where No. 2  Angelo Ferrari squeaked out a 2-1 win in tiebreaker periods against No. 9 Aeoden Sinclair. Overall, Iowa collected three wins with bonus points, two falls and one major decision.

Iowa will take on No. 15 Illinois in tonight’s quarterfinals. The Illini defeated No. 22 Little Rock, 22-13.

No. 4 Ohio State captured eight wins in the dual—five of which came with bonus points. At 141 pounds, two-time NCAA champion and top-ranked Jesse Mendez earned a first-period fall in just over 30 seconds. Following up Mendez’s performance, the Buckeyes scored a major decision and a technical fall at 149 and 157 pounds, respectively.

Tonight, Ohio State faces No. 9 Minnesota, who defeated No. 10 Virginia Tech, 19-17.

Second-ranked Nebraska put on a show, recording eight wins with six bonus-point victories. At 141 pounds, 2025 NCAA finalist Brock Hardy earned a late fall at 6:11, and at heavyweight, 2021 NCAA champion (197) AJ Ferrari closed out the dual with a 19-4 technical fall.

Though Lehigh didn’t advance in the winners’ bracket, there was a standout performer in No. 23 Logan Rozynski, recorded a 9-1 major decision against reigning NCAA champion and top-ranked Antrell Taylor.

To advance to the quarters, Michigan stormed back after giving up three of the first four matches to Arizona State. Michigan won the remaining six bouts for a 30-10 win.

North Carolina State, ranked seventh in the nation, picked up eight bout wins, defeating No. 14 Northern Iowa, 27-8. Leading the way were No. 1 and reigning NCAA champion Vincent Robinson at 125 pounds and No. 5 Matty Singleton at 174 pounds.

NC State takes on hometown team and No. 5 Oklahoma State in the quarters, who edged out No. 12 Cornell in the first round, 22-12. Tonight’s matchup features a rematch of the 2025 NCAA finals as Robinson is slated to take on NCAA runner-up and second-ranked Troy Spratley to kick off the dual.
