Oklahoma State to face Iowa, Nebraska takes on Ohio State in
Sunday semifinals

Tulsa | nov. 15, 2025

Four teams – Iowa, Nebraska, Ohio State and Oklahoma State – have secured their spot in the semifinals of the NWCA National Duals Invitational sponsored by Paycom. The semis will take place on Sunday at 10 a.m. CT at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The night featured two 2025 NCAA finals rematches. Both results favored the reigning champs.

At 125 pounds, Vincent Robinson of North Carolina State defeated Oklahoma State’s Troy Spratley, 3-2. It was No. 5 Oklahoma State that went on to win the dual fueled, in part, by a 2-0 decision from No. 20 Sergio Vega over Wolfpack’s No. 8 Ryan Jack.

The Cowboys advance to take on a familiar foe in No. 3 Iowa and continue a storied rivalry between the powerhouses.

Iowa had an NCAA championship rematch of its own at 133 pounds, with the win also going to its opposition. No. 1 Lucas Byrd, the returning champ for Illinois, defeated 2025 finalist Drake Ayala with a convincing 7-2 result. A technical fall at 141 and a major decision at 197 propelled the Hawkeyes to a 24-13 win over the Fighting Illini.

On the other end of the bracket, two Big Ten squads will battle it out as No. 2 Nebraska is set to face No. 4 Ohio State, where another NCAA finals rematch seems likely at 141 pounds between Ohio State’s Jesse Mendez, the 2025 champ, and Nebraska’s Brock Hardy, the runner-up.

Nebraska traded matches with No. 11 Michigan throughout the night but prevailed 24-14, thanks to a pair of tech falls and two more major decisions. 2025 NCAA champion Antrell Taylor bounced back from a loss in the first round, racking up 20 points in a tech fall over No. 30 Cameron Catrabone at 157 pounds.

The Buckeyes cruised past No. 9 Minnesota, winning eight of the 10 bouts. Mendez was strong in the quarters, taking out No. 5 Vance Vombaur with a dominant 14-5 major decision. Other Buckeye bonus points came from Ben Davino (133), Brandon Cannon (157) and Carson Kharchla (174).

The first of the prize money was doled out on day one as Paycom presented team takedown bonuses, a $10,000 prize, to the squad with the fastest average takedown time in each of Saturday’s sessions. Each team’s five fastest takedowns, recorded by five different wrestlers, were averaged to determine the winners. The five winners were:

Session One
Round of 16 Group One - Illinois, 1:53

Round of 16 Group Two - Ohio State, 0:18

Session Two

Quarterfinals - Ohio State, 0:56

Consolation Round One - Virginia Tech, 0:49

Consolation Quarterfinals - Missouri, 1:08

Session 3 begins Sunday morning at 10 a.m. CT with the championship semis and consolation semis, followed by placement matches at noon, live on FloWrestling.org.

Session 4, the championship finals, are set for Sunday at 6 p.m on ESPN2.
